The Giants got off to a quick start in the bottom of the 1st, putting up 3 runs in the inning on an Evan Longoria homerun. The Giants weren't done there, scoring another run in the 3rd off a Brandon Belt double that scored Buster Posey. The Dodgers tried to crawl their way back into the game in the later innings, scoring a run in both the 6th and 7th innings. Kike Hernandez and Joc Pederson both singled to drive in the runs in those respective innings. Those were the only runs the Dodgers could get, and Hunter Strickland came in for the 9th to secure the win. On the day, Ty Blach went 6 innings giving up 2 ER while striking out 4.
