The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 to get their third win of the season and pull within a half game of the NFC East. The defense including Donovan Wilson, DeMarcus Lawrence and Leighton Vander Esch set a physicality and tone that was befitting of Mike McCarthy's watermelon smashing pregame speech. Andy Dalton threw three touchdowns and Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard provided the lightning and thunder combination needed to give the running game new life. CeeDee Lamb had the catch of the year so far for the Cowboys. Finally the switch to Zack Martin at right tackle allowed the offensive line to be stabilized for the first time this season.
