A bad day for Forest at Cardiff as they failed to turn up, conceding a cheap early goal and never really recovering. Jordan Hugill was given the freedom of the Reds' half after just six minutes and made no mistake, and more lax defending in the second half saw sub Isaak Davies score a second goal after the hour mark. Realistically, the match was over, although a late chance for Xande Silva and a stoppage-time consolation from Keinan Davis offered brief glimmers of hope.
