Real Madrid have received a huge boost ahead of Saturday's Clasico after Cristiano Ronaldo returned to full training. Ronaldo missed training at the start of the week after sustaining a calf injury in the Club World Cup final last weekend. The Portuguese star admitted after the 1-0 win over Gremio in Abu Dhabi that he had been struggling towards the end of the game, casting doubt over his involvement against Barcelona at the Bernabeu. Ronaldo returned to training on Wednesday, however he took part in practice alone, working on his fitness instead of with the rest of the Real squad. However on Friday, pictures emerged of a smiling Ronaldo back with his team mates and fit to play in the biggest domestic game of the Spanish season so far. A clip posted to the Real Madrid official Instagram page showed Ronaldo going through fitness drills with the rest of the team and with no problems. The sight will be a massive bonus for Real manager Zinedine Zidane, who knows his side must win on Saturday - their final game before La Liga's winter break - to stand any chance of challenging for the title. Real are 11 points behind Barca, after enduring a start to the season blighted by injuries to key players and loss of form in others, including Ronaldo. Also looking to be back at fitness is Gareth Bale, who trained alongside Ronaldo and has been involved with the first team all week. Zidane could play the feared 'BBC' strike force, of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo, against their deadliest rivals. Read More News at the link below.. Gareth Bale's penalty set Real Madrid on their way to an ultimately comfortable 3-0 win in the first leg of their Copa del Rey last-16 tie at Numancia. Bale, playing in a Real side made up largely of fringe players, converted coolly from the spot 10 minutes before half-time to notch his first goal in domestic competition since September. The Welshman, whose campaign has been disrupted by a succession of injuries which have limited him to just six LaLiga appearances, sent goalkeeper Munir the wrong way with a penalty low into the left corner. Numancia played the last 30 minutes with 10 men following a red card for Pape Maly Diamanka, but remained in the contest until the final stages when another penalty, this time from second-half substitute Isco, and a header from Borja Mayoral put the tie to bed. The hosts, fifth in the second tier and unbeaten since November, held their own early on, with Lucas Vazquez firing narrowly wide of the left-hand post after being set up by Theo Hernandez and Bale also off target from a Dani Ceballos cross. Vazquez's skill created the opening goal as Carlos Gutierrez fell for his trick in the area and brought him down. Bale did the rest from 12 yards. Numancia continued to frustrate Real after the break, Vazquez blazing high and Daniel Carvajal seeing his effort from a tight angle on the right kept out by Munir. But the hosts' task got harder on the hour mark when midfielder Diamanka was sent off for a second booking. Bale was replaced by Mateo Kovacic moments later. Higinio Marin headed wide from a Dani Nieto cross as Numancia briefly threatened, while at the other end Ceballos' long-range attempt was saved low by Munir. The hosts almost drew level in stunning fashion when Inigo Perez's effort from way out thundered off the crossbar. But the 10-men's hopes of going into the second leg at the Bernabeu still in the tie were dashed late on. Five minutes after he had shot just over, Isco fired an 89th-minute penalty high into the top corner after Vazquez had drawn another foul, this time from Unai Medina. And in time added on Mayoral headed home number three from close range. Read More News at the link below.. Neymar appeared to be making the most of Paris Saint-Germain's winter break as he packed on the PDA with girlfriend Bruna Marquezine while enjoying a day with friends on a luxury yacht. The £600,000-a-week star showed his affection for his on-off partner just days after they were reported to have reconciled their relationship at a New Year's Eve party in their native Brazil. PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and his girlfriend Izabel Goular joined them as they spent the day basking in the sun in Fernando de Noronha, an idylic island located 220 miles off the coast of Pernambuco. It is the first time Neymar and Marquezine have been pictured together since they were seen hugging and kissing at a party, which they were both invited to separately by close friends. Neymar announced the end of his relationship with Bruna shortly before he completed his move to PSG from Barcelona last summer. It was the third time the pair had split during a five-year relationship. According to reports in the Brazilian media at the time, the reason for the split was because the star footballer had asked his on-off-girlfriend of five years to marry him. Vincent Kompany claims all of Manchester City's attacking players have developed Sergio Aguero's appetite for goals. Aguero struck twice as City moved 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League, and extended their record run of successive victories to 17, with a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Saturday. That double chalked up yet another landmark for Aguero, who became City's record goalscorer earlier this season, by taking his tally of goals in games at the Etihad Stadium to 101. But with City also reaching 101 goals in Premier League games in 2017, and 60 for this campaign alone, it is not only the prolific Argentina striker who is delivering. Most notably Raheem Sterling is enjoying the season of his career, with another strike against the Cherries lifting his total for the campaign to 16 in all competitions. City captain Kompany said: 'These guys are just hungry for more. 'Kun' has always been inclined that way but I think everybody else now up front has a feeling of scoring goals, what it means to be the main man. It is something that doesn't go away. 'Everyone is working hard in training, you can tell, to improve whatever they can to score more goals. That helps the team ultimately. We are in a good position with a lot of guys that want to do well.' City were hardly tested by Bournemouth and eased to victory without hitting top gear. Aguero put them on the way when he headed home a Fernandinho cross after 27 minutes and then turned provider for Sterling to lash home the second early in the second half. Chris Coleman won’t care. Neither will the Sunderland fans, who sang and shouted all afternoon. It wasn’t pretty and it certainly wasn’t entertaining, but James Vaughan’s headed goal and George Honeyman’s low finish in the last ten minutes, ticked two boxes for Coleman as he attempts to drag the Black Cats out of the mire. Achievement number one was that the two goals sealed Sunderland’s first win in the league since August. The second box ticked was that it was the club’s first clean sheet since May this year. Two managers have gone in that time - as have a host of players - but Coleman has reasons to be cheerful with the small steps his team are taking at the back and up front. Anyone expecting well-constructed, attacking football would have been bitterly disappointed. Just a glance at the league table - Burton 22nd and Sunderland 24th going into the game - would tell you all you needed to know about these two sides. Tough and turgid would be an apt description - even more so with the arrival of snow, rain and sleet in the second half. But at the same time this was oddly compelling, as neither side was able to take their chances and both looked susceptible when under the cosh. A scoreless first half followed a familiar pattern. Sunderland played out from the back, Burton pressed and hassled until the Black Cats’ defence got fed up of keeping the ball or panicked, and one of John O’Shea or Tyias Browning hoofed it upfield. Possession was squandered, and Burton were only too obliging to attack. Read More News at the link below..
