SON HEUNG-MIN BAGS TWICE AS TOTTENHAM BEAT WEST HAM TO BOOST TOP FOUR HOPES IN PREMIER LEAGUE Son Heung-Min scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur sealed a 3-1 win over London rivals West Ham United in the race for the top four. Spurs’ first goal came after Matt Doherty won the ball back and found Harry Kane. The striker drove into the box, avoiding several challenges by Hammers defenders, and passed it towards Son, who could not manage a touch. Instead, it was Kurt Zouma’s knee that flicked the ball into the air and past Lukasz Fabianski. Their second came 15 minutes later, and it was clear that at this point the home side were in complete control. Kane got the ball on the halfway line and found Son with an incredible pass, who used his left foot to rise a finish into the net. Despite a slow start, West Ham managed to get back into the match from a corner. Aaron Creswell swung the ball in, and it found Craig Dawson, who headed it to Said Benrahma at the back post. He skilfully sorted out his feet to score a low volley, giving the visitors a chance to get back in it. West Ham looked much more confident on the ball in the second half, but they were lacking that pass into the final third, and were unable to create any clear cut chances in order to score an equaliser. Tottenham defended well when they needed to, pushed to restore their two-goal advantage, and eventually struck again in the 88th minute. A ball from Hugo Lloris straight to Kane was flicked to Son who slotted into the net. The win puts Spurs in fifth above West Ham, who drop to seventh, and Manchester United. They play Newcastle United after the international break, but all eyes will be on the upcoming north London derby, which could very well be a top four decider. West Ham will look to go back to winning ways against a struggling Everton, before they head to Lyon to compete in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Nottingham Forest are soaring high in confidence after their 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Wednesday night saw them climb into the play-off positions for the first time this season. It's been an incredible few weeks for Steve Cooper's side, who notably dumped 2021 FA Cup champions Leicester City out of the tournament at the weekend with a 4-1 hammering. Forest have now lost just one of their last six games across all competitions and last night, they showed that they really do mean business, as they bested promotion rivals Blackburn away from home. While the odds were against them coming into the match, the Reds overwhelmed their opponents, with James Garner putting the side a goal up after 23 minutes and Brennan Johnson doubling their lead from a second-half spot-kick. It was their first back-to-back win over the Blue and Whites in over 45 years and there is certainly much to celebrate at the moment for forest fans. After a win at home, Forest usually blast out Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' over The City Ground's tannoys, with fans singing along to the 90s classic. Celebrations when winning away from home can often be a much quieter affair for the Forest faithful, with hosting grounds reluctant to play the club song after full time. But after the club's win over Blackburn, it seems a group of supporters have taken matters into their own hands. Spectators are typically prohibited from bringing large objects like a speaker into a football ground, but in bizarre scenes, a group of Forest fans have managed to smuggle a large boombox past the stewards in the away end at Ewood Park. As the party commenced after full-time, the Reds faithful were in full voice belting out their club chant, thanks to one supporter who held the speaker over his head and blasted the 1998 track out to the entire gantry. Take a look at the video below… Incredible scenes. Twitter users have been reacting to the video online, with many baffled at how the Forest fans have managed to get the speaker past security… Forest now occupy sixth place in the league, with Middlesbrough snapping at their heels in seventh, also vying for a promotion spot. But it's been an incredible month of football for the Nottingham side, whose remarkable FA Cup run has seen them defeat both of the tournament's last two winners, with Forest also besting Arsenal earlier in the fourth round. They'll advance take on Huddersfield in the next stage of the tournament in March, but in the meantime, Reds fans will be soaking up their side's recent run of form, as many just can't seem to get enough of Forest at the moment. #blackburn #ultrasdiscotheque #ewoodpark #nottinghamforest #nottinghamforestultras #ewoodparkstadium #championship #depechemode For more information please subscribe our Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/EasternEuropeFootballAgency Our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/easterneuropefootball For contact and cooperation e-mail easteuropefootball@gmail.com
