BCHL 3 Stars – Week Ten 2021-22

Wenatchee Wild defenceman Brasen Boser, Trail Smoke Eaters forward Zach Michaelis and West Kelowna Warriors forward John Evans have been named the BCHL 3 Stars of the Week. 1st Star – Brasen Boser (D) – Wenatchee Wild Boser was the highest scoring defenceman last week and tied for second among all BCHL skaters after posting two goals and three assists in a pair of Wenatchee wins over the weekend. The 17-year-old scored once and added two assists on Saturday in his team’s 7-1 road win over the Merritt Centennials and was named the game’s first star. On Sunday afternoon, Boser put the cap on the Wild’s three-goal opening period and later added an assist in a 4-1 victory over the West Kelowna Warriors. Boser did the majority of his damage on the power play with four of his points coming with the man advantage. He more than doubled his point output for this season over the weekend and now stands at eight points in 18 games, second among Wild blueliners. 2nd Star – Zach Michaelis (F) – Trail Smoke Eaters Michaelis continued his strong play of late with five points in two games on three goals and two assists. On Friday, he scored both of Trail’s goals, including one on the power play, and found the back of the net again in the shootout to clinch a 3-2 win for the Smokies. On Saturday, he was all over the scoresheet again, this time with a goal and two helpers in a 6-3 loss to the Penticton Vees. He was named first star of both games. Michaelis was in on all five goals his team scored over the weekend and now has 13 points over a five-game streak dating back to Dec. 1. His big week puts him in a tie for 10th overall in BCHL scoring with 28 points in in 21 games and his 17 goals are tied for fourth most in the league. 3rd Star – John Evans (F) – West Kelowna Warriors Evans was the high point man last week after collecting six points in three games. On Friday, the South Surrey, B.C. native scored midway through the second period to tie the game after the Merritt Centennials took an early 2-0 lead. He later added an assist on the power play as his team skated to the 6-3 win. The next night, Evans filled the stat sheet again, this time with a goal and two assists in a narrow 4-3 victory over the Vernon Vipers. He closed out his week by assisting on the Warriors lone goal in a 4-1 defeat against the Wenatchee Wild on Sunday afternoon. Evans’ point total now sits at 20 on the season in 22 games, which puts him fifth in team scoring.
