Walleye vs Wings Winterfest Highlights (12/27/14)
11,222 fans - the largest crowd in the history of Toledo hockey - packed the Toledo Mud Hens ballpark on Saturday for the first ever ECHL outdoor game. The K-Wings dropped the Walleye with a late goal to take the win, 2-1. Toledo now has an overall record of 19-5-2-1 on the season and is 8-3-2-1 at home. A physical start to the game entertained the vocal fans until Kalamazoo forward Ludwig Blomstrand scored the first goal of the game at 19:41 of the first. Tyler Barnes (13th) tied the game at a goal when he one-timed a Shane Berschbach pass into the net just 1:06 in the second period. The game remained tied for the next 36 minutes of game play. Matt Caria wristed a shot past Toledo goaltender Jeff Lerg with 3:23 left in the third period to give Kalamazoo the win.

The Toledo Walleye advanced to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a win over the Bloomington Bison by a score of 6-2 at the Huntington Center tonight.
