This was the second of two regular season games between the two squads and this one transpired in Morgantown, West Virginia. Texas Tech won the game 60-53. West Virginia's leading scorer, and the second leading scorer in the Big 12, Taz Sherman did not play in the game due to being in concussion protocol. Sherman suffered the injury in the previous game against Baylor. Even without Sherman, the Mountaineers were able to hang with the #14 ranked Red Raiders, even getting a 9-point lead at one time. The Mountaineers were led by Jalen Bridges & Sean McNeill, who scored 16 & 15 points respectively. Gabe Osabuohien pulled down 13 rebounds for the Mountaineers and was a beast on the defensive end. The Red Raiders continued their stifling defense by holding the Mountaineers to 4 of 32 shooting in the second half. Offensively, they had three players in double figures: Bryson Williams poured in 15, Davion Warren had 11 and Kevin McCullar had 10.
