Commentators GM Nigel Short and IM Almira Skripchenko 2021 FIDE World Cup takes place in Sochi, Russia, from July 12 to August 6. 206 of the world's top players, including the world champion Magnus Carlsen, take part in the competition. The two finalists will qualify for the 2022 Candidates Tournament, in addition to winning the 110.000 USD first prize and 80.000 USD for the runner-up.
