The T-Birds defeated the Silvertips 5-4 in overtime Tuesday night at ShoWare Center to take a 3-0 lead in their Western Conference Semifinal series. Mathew Barzal scored the overtime game-winning goal 1:30 into overtime to get the T-Birds the win. Barzal tied the game 4-4 early in the third period. Keegan Kolesar, Nolan Volcan and Alexander True had the T-Birds first three goals of the game. Carl Stankowski made 14 saves to get his seventh win of the playoffs.
It was a rare Wednesday night game, the second of 5 road games before we are back home. We saw some firsts from Mynio and Hanzel, scored in a 3, 2, 1 fashion.

The Portland Winterhawks defeated the T-Birds 6-3 Saturday at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Gabe Ludwig, Sam Oremba, and Tyrel Bauer scored for the T-Birds and Jackson Berry had 27 saves. Oremba's goal was his first career WHL goal. Seth Jarvis had three goals for Portland and Simon Knak, Mason Mannek and Ryan McCleary scored for Portland. Dante Giannuzzi had 23 saves.
