Elias Lindholm tied the game 4-4 with 28 seconds remaining in the third period with Markstrom on the bench for the extra attacker. His goal came after Hoffman made it 4-3 at 17:15 when he shot under Markstrom's right arm from the right faceoff circle. Blake Coleman put Calgary up 1-0 at 11:06 of the first period when he tapped a backdoor pass from Andrew Mangipane by Hammond and over the goal line. Petry tied it 1-1 at 19:34. Gaudreau made it 2-1 at 12:08 of the second period when he picked up a turnover in the corner before lifting a shot over Hammond's shoulder. Mangiapane extended the lead to 3-1 at 15:40 with a shorthanded goal. He has scored in four straight games. Suzuki trimmed Calgary's lead to 3-2 at 17:44 of the second period when he swept a shot five-hole from just above the goal line on a 5-on-3 power play. Chiarot tied it 3-3 at 4:38 of the third with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Markstrom. Montreal forward Jake Evans sustained an upper-body injury in the second period and did not return.
