Classic Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant Story told by actor John Cusack
Tear Jerker Alert! So, I know I am a little late on this story but I keep seeing it posted in different places on Social Media and I didn't particularly care for the editing that went with the audio. For those of you that haven't heard this story, I won't play spoiler. Just go watch the video lol. Anyway, I was going to make a new Kobe compilation video (don't worry, that is still coming in the new future), but when I began playing with some clips and audio, I just went into work mode and I think I put together a pretty special piece. For those of you that don't know, John Cusack is an American actor who started out in the 1980's and really found his way in the 1990s. I could be wrong, but from what I understand he is either friends with Michael Jordan or just a MJ fanatic, he might actually be both but he was on Jimmy Kimmel's late night show recently when he was asked about Jordan. Eventually, Kimmel asks Cusack about this now iconic picture (this is the audio featured in the video along with the picture throughout) where Kobe Bryant is standing over Jordan laughing while MJ has his typical MJ smirk on him like he just said something sly out his mouth. In case you are wondering, Cusack is the guy in the right of the picture who is laughing and has the big gulp in his hand lol as Jimmy Kimmel references in the audio. For those of you who are subscribed to my channel and followed my story, you know how much of an impact Michael Jordan has had on me in my life. I had seen this clip hundreds of times along with the picture but never heard the story behind it. When I heard it, I found myself smiling even though the interaction wasn't surprising if you know anything about MJ but the significance of the moment with everything that happened earlier this year with Kobe really made this story and project special for me and hopefully you will find the same to be true. The Splash Brothers Funny Moments: Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson
Steph is in the midst of another amazing season. It was announced yesterday that Klay is 5-6 weeks from returning finally for the first time in 2 seasons. The Warriors are currently 11-2. Life is good in Golden State. So what better timing to put out a video on one of the greatest backcourts in NBA History and their funny moments. On Dec. 21, 2012, during a seemingly nondescript game against the Charlotte Bobcats, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for seven three-pointers at the half, causing Warriors.com writer, Brian Witt, to tweet the #SplashBrothers hashtag from the team's official Twitter account. Has there ever been a better nickname in sports? If the Warriors can get back even 75% of the Klay Thompson pre injury, the league is in trouble. So while Steph has been in the gym sharpening his craft, Klay has been rehabbing and also spending a good amount of time on his boat. The same boat he has multiple nicknames for that he mentions late in this video. He even took 2nd year player James Wiseman out on the boat to see what all the hype is about. A lot of his funny moments that are featured in this video take place just while he is on his boat on Instagram live being himself. But Klay has some extra fire to motivate him to come back stronger from his injury. In what was definitely a PR stunt to celebrate the 75th year of the NBA, a list of the top 75 players ever was released that Klay was absent from. 11 active players were on this list but Klay was clearly pissed because he felt like he wasn't given any respect. Teammates Steph and Draymond used this opportunity to poke fun at Klay which can also be seen in this video. It truly will be a magical atmosphere once Klay takes the court again in about a month and to see him and Steph play together once again. But part of what makes the so special on the court is because they are such funny, genuine and special guys off the court and seem to have a strong connection.
