Hawks Strong Fourth Leads to 129-121 Win Against Lakers for 7th Straight

Recap of Lakers-Hawks from January 30, 2022. John Collins had another really strong game to get the Hawks going early. However, until the fourth quarter Anthony Davis, Malik Monk, who had 33, and Russell Westbrook were hurting the Hawks' defense. Trae shook off a bad first half and ended up with a game-high 36 points and 12 assists. But down the stretch, a staggered unit of Young, Lou Williams, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Gallinari/Collins, and Onyeka Okongwu really secured the victory. Okongwu made his presence felt with vicious dunk after vicious dunk, while also impacting the game on defense tremendously.

Recap of Hawks-Pistons from March 7, 2022. The Hawks threw this game away with mental lapses in the fourth quarter. Trae Young really struggled in this game, and the Hawks' offense in the second half was not there. The Pistons kept this game close and give credit to them. They are a young team and if young teams stay close, they gain confidence. Cade Cunningham and Jerami Grant led the way for the Pistons, but Killian Hayes and Marvin Bagley also had good games off the bench.

Knicks-Hawks Recap from January 15, 2022. The Hawks have not won a game at State Farm Arena since November and have lost five in a row. Not many bright spots to this game for the Hawks; however, Onyeka Okongwu and Danilo Gallinari continue their great play off the bench. The Hawks have gone cold from the three-point line lately, and for a team that had shooting as a major strength last year, it is concerning and confusing. For the Knicks, Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett both had good games. Mitchell Robinson also was a formidable paint beast, as Alec Burks and Evan Fournier added to all Knick starters scoring double digits.

Hawks Defense Nowhere to be Found in 115-133 Loss to Nuggets

Recap of Nuggets-Hawks on December 17, 2021. No defensive effort from the Hawks in this one. The offense still looks fine. Some questionable decisions from Nate McMillan in this one as well. Bones Hyland had a career game, while the playmaking of Facu Campazzo and Nikola Jokic had the Hawks confused.
