The NHL playoffs have been going STRONG, and the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals kicked off this weekend with a GREAT matchup between the New York Islanders and the Tampa Bay Lightning - and tonight is set to be great as well. The Islanders took Game 1 with a win over the Lightning, and we are excited to see what Game 2 has in store. This is the FIRST matchup of the season outside of the NHL East Division and NHL Central Division respectively for these teams, a huge chance to show if their success can continue with different competitors. With regard to the NHL East standings, the New York Islanders ended their season in fourth, and the Tampa Bay Lightning ended their season third in the NHL Central standings. The Stanley Cup Playoffs series is currently tied at 1-0, and the WINNER of this series will go onto the Stanley Cup Final. It is a VERY exciting day for hockey fans near and far as the NHL is slowly getting back to normal since NHL COVID-19 pandemic delays. This season, we are no longer sporting the East Division, Central Division, West Division, and Canadian Division, and our faceoff tonight between the Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild is one of many between the Atlantic Division and the Central Division. The Bruins go into tonight's game with 6 games in-hand on the Tampa Bay Lightning leading the Atlantic Division, and the Wild have three games in-hand against the Central Division leading Nashville Predators. Also some HUGE news today as Bruins Tuukka Rask signed for a professional try-out with Bruins AHL affiliate Providence Bruins. In Providence Tuukka Rask will likely face conditioning until he rejoins the Bruins. The Bruins and Wild will have a lot on the line tonight as they hope to keep strong momentum in their full 82-game season, and we will be here for every minute of it.
