Despite 2 assists from captain Darren Haydar, the Chicago Wolves settled for 1 point in their 18th season opener as the San Antonio Rampage rallied for a 3-2 shootout victory on Saturday night at AT&T Center. The Rampage (1-0-0-0) converted on 2 of their 4 shootout opportunities while the Wolves (0-0-0-1) couldn't find the back of the net on any of their four chances. Haydar set up Kevin Doell in the first period and rookie Darren Archibald in the second period to give the Wolves a 2-1 lead midway through the second period of their 11th American Hockey League opener. Eddie Lack, the AHL's 2011 all-rookie goaltender, posted 31 saves in his Wolves debut, which doubled as the AHL coaching debut for Craig MacTavish.

The Chicago Wolves offense ignited for five goals and goaltender Drew MacIntyre shut the door the rest of the way to help the Wolves to a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals before a crowd of 8,523 at the Allstate Arena Saturday night. Left wing Nigel Dawes (2G, A) and right wing Spencer Machacek (G, A) led a pack of five Wolves with multiple points, while centers Jason Krog and Patrice Cormier tallied the other goals for Chicago (16-15-2-0). The Chicago Wolves fell behind 2-0 in the first period and were never able to pull even as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center Friday night. Center Johnny Pohl scored twice for Chicago (47-22-1-6), who lead the West Division by four points over the Texas Stars with four games remaining in the regular-season.

The Chicago Wolves clinched a berth in the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs with a 3-2 shootout victory over the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena on Sunday. Goaltender Drew MacIntyre (19-14-2) stopped all four San Antonio attempts in the shootout and made a season-high 45 saves in regulation and overtime to lead the Wolves to victory. Right wing Tim Stapleton provided both Wolves goals in regulation and converted in the shootout, as did left wing Andrew Kozek. Left wing Brett MacLean scored both goals for San Antonio.
