The Boston Celtics had a subpar 2020-2021 season after finishing 7th in the Eastern conference and after being a first round exit. But this is despite injuries to guys like Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Robert Williams. But Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has made some good moves this offseason which include signing point guard Dennis Schroder to a one-year 5.9 million deal. After failing to re-sign Evan Fournier, the Boston Celtics also acquired Josh Richardson from the Dallas Mavericks after sending Moses Brown and part of the trade exception that Boston got from the Gordon Hayward trade. The Celtics also traded Kemba Walker’s contract to the OKC Thunder in exchange for Al Horford just earlier. Boston has also traded Tristan Thompson in exchange for point guard Kris Dunn plus a 2nd round pick. Boston first hired Ime Udoka as head coach to replace Brad Stevens. And they’ve also acquired former Celtics’ big man Enes Kanter for the veteran’s minimum. After failing to land Bradley Beal in a trade, Boston will now rely on their young stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to lead the way, as well as their core which features Marcus Smart, Al Horford, Robert Williams, Dennis Schroder, as well as Payton Pritchard and Aaron Nesmith But it all starts with 2-time all-star Tatum who averaged 26.4 ppg. 7.4 rpg, and 4.3 apg last season. During the Boston Celtics preseason game vs. the Orlando Magic, Tatum also put up 18 points, 19 rebounds, and 2 assists. But can Tatum really become a superstar for the Celtics?
