As the NBA prepares for a return to action at the end of July, the players have begun to file inside of the Disney World bubble. One player who has recently left the bubble is New Orleans Pelicans’ star and Rookie of the Year hopeful Zion Williamson. Williamson is tending to an “urgent family matter” that has not been specified. Family always comes first, but if the Pelicans lose Zion Williamson for their first few games, it could be a big loss to their playoff hopes. The New Orleans Pelicans will face the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers, Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies for their first four games, and depending on how long Zion Williamson is back home with family, he may be forced to miss some of those games. Will the Pelicans be able to keep their heads above water while being led by Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday? Want more NBA videos from Chat Sports? The first trade scenario Jimmy Crowther breaks down in this video involves the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hypothetically, the Thunder would send Chris Paul to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Kevin Porter Jr., Dante Exum and Larry Nance Jr. This one gets a huge thumbs down from Jimmy, as the Cavaliers are trading away two of their franchise guards and a young, underrated wing in Kevin Porter Jr. for an aging Chris Paul. The Cavaliers say no, but also, what would the Oklahoma City Thunder do with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Dennis Schroder, Darius Garland, Collin Sexton AND Dante Exum? Basketball is BACK, so make sure to get your Ball is Back t-shirts from Fanatics at ChatSports.com/NBAReturn The second trade broken down in today’s video sends Chris Paul to the New York Knicks in exchange for Kevin Knox II, Reggie Bullock and Frank Ntilikina. Knox and Ntilikina could be solid role players with the Oklahoma City Thunder and would allow for them to continue to build toward the future. The New York Knicks, on the other hand, get a seasoned point guard that could push their young stars like RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture. This one could actually get done, but perhaps the Thunder feel they could get more for Chris Paul after his outstanding performance throughout the 2019-20 NBA season. The final hypothetical trade scenario that Jimmy Crowther dives into is one involving the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz. Rudy Gobert has been at the center of a lot of drama since the NBA went on a hiatus, but he is still one of the NBA’s best defensive players. In this trade, the Chicago Bulls would receive Rudy Gobert in exchange for Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr., Thaddeus Young and an unprotected first-round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Hypothetical NBA trades discussed on today’s show… Cavaliers Receive: Chris Paul Thunder Receive: Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Kevin Porter Jr., Dante Exum & Larry Nance Knicks Receive: Chris Paul Thunder Receive: Frank Ntilikina, Kevin Knox II & Reggie Bullock Bulls Receive: Rudy Gobert Jazz Receive: Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr., Thaddeus Young & 2020 1st-Rd.
