Jose Mourinho says Gareth Bale was wrong to post on Instagram that he was fit to face Everton on Wednesday. Manchester City vs Tottenham | Jose Mourinho press conference | Premier league TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Introduction 0:45 Injuries? Lo Celso long way off 1:15 Gareth Bale? We have a training session later 1:45 Bale's Instagram post? His post needs to be addressed because there was a contradiction between his post and reality. I have tried to be private. Probably post was not even his responsibility. Was totally wrong. 2:45 I hope no more questions about it. He asked for a scan, his feelings were there and as coaches and medical people we can not go against the players' feelings. So he was not ready, as simple as that. If he is ready for tomorrow he is selected tomorrow 4:00 Everton game not ideal preparation for facing PL leaders? No. I opened the file on the Everton game and closed it immediately. I don't even want to share it with my players. 4:35 Man City have a different squad and could rest most of their squad. 4:55 After this game the players have a rest on Sunday ahead of trip to Austria 5:50 Man City 14 wins? They are a very good team, biggest candidates to win the title which is not a big surprise. 6:30 Not easy to develop relationships with other managers, but with Pep we celebrate the 3 years we had together, great periods in our lives, him as a player, me as a young assistant coach 8:15 When my Dad died, he called me, and when his Mum died I called him. 8:45 Eric Dier? He started 20 games this season, others had equal opportunities. He is one of the guys I really like, a team player, not selfish, I trust him. 11:45 Different Man City to team from November? We beat them because we played so so well. If you make a defensive mistake they will kill you. They win games, score goals and doesn't concede goals. Very difficult to stop them scoring and difficult to score. So you have to play a perfect match, like we did against them at home. 13:45 What makes a game difference are the goals that you score or concede. I will analyze with the players, if you want to do it, go with Carragher and Neville, Shearer and Lineker, Rio and others on TV. 16:30 Are we seeing the best of Lamela? I love a good Lamela. He's the kind of player I like a lot. He wants responsibility, wants the ball, sometimes chaotic but that is because he wants play. I love Coco. His injuries have been hard for him. Let's see. He will start. 18:30 Kane and Aurier fit to start? I believe so. I didn't want Harry to play 60 minutes v Everton but no reactions. Wait and see on Serge. I don't know. 20:00 Do Man City have any weak points? No, I don't see any weakness so to win the game we need be perfect in every department for every minute. 21:00 One question in Portuguese. Sheffield United vs Arsenal 0-3 Sheffield United vs Arsenal 0-3 Post Match Pundits Analysis Arsenal eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday thanks to two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and a tap-in from Gabriel Martinelli at Bramall Lane. Arsenal have actually won a game of football without there being much fuss or drama. It was a pleasant and almost ‘normal’ evening for the Gunners and ok, it was against the team at the bottom of the league but going into the fixture it still looked like one that Arsenal might make difficult for themselves at some point. But Mikel Arteta’s side made it look easy, scored some well-worked goals and jumped back into the top half after shrugging off a difficult week. The impending sense of doom would have been surrounding Arteta ahead of the Europa League quarter-final second leg in Prague on Thursday had Arsenal slipped up here. Bukayo Saka’s substitution may have just been a precaution rather than a cause for concern but this was job well done. Arsenal fans will have loved seeing Gabriel Martinelli back on the pitch tonight. The Brazilian was one of the hottest prospects in Europe before suffering a long term knee injury in June 2020. It’s been a long road for the 19-year-old and he’s not quite been able to get back into the team on a consistent basis, making just seven appearances in the league this season. But he was afforded a rare opportunity from the start tonight and has more than staked his claim for regular inclusion between now and the end of the season. Playing off the left-hand side, where Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been operating recently, Martinelli was direct every time he received the ball as he intended to make penetrate the Blades defence. Martinelli consistently plays at a high tempo and the goal will do wonders for his confidence. Aubameyang missed tonight’s game with the flu, if he does make it back for Thursday then Arteta has a huge decision to make. Wengerball That period was many moons ago now but Alexandre Lacazette’s opener tonight gave us all a throwback to that era. A neat one-touch passing move between Lacazette, Bukayo Saka and Dani Ceballos ended with the Frenchman placing the ball past Aaron Ramsdale in the blink of an eye. It wasn’t quite Jack Wilshere’s goal v Norwich from 2015 (the best ever Premier League goal? Answers on a postcard) but it wasn’t far off. This Arsenal team are capable of it – now we need to see it more often. #Arsenal #MikelArteta #PremierLeague
