Barry Town and the Welsh Cup, 2012-13

After winning at Caerleon and Penrhyncoch in Rounds 1 and 2 respectively, the unpaid players of Barry Town mounted a remarkable challenge for the Welsh Cup in 2012/13. Here are highlights from the Round 3 and 4 matches against Ely Rangers and Pontardawe Town at Jenner Park, as well as the Quarter-Final vs Flint Town United and the historic Semi-Final against Prestatyn Town in Newtown. The run marked just the third time in 100 years of football that a Barry Town team progressed from Round 1 of the Welsh Cup to the Semi-Final stage - and the first as a both a fully-amateur and fan-run outfit.
