Michael Jordan made scoring look easy, while James Harden is defying basketball mathematics by remaining ridiculously efficient on all-time high usage volumes; Durant is up there, and it’s his combination of athletic gifts and natural talents that make him unstoppable. Even though KD is listed at 6-foot-10 in his official NBA profile, it’s widely known he’s somewhere closer to 7 feet, if not right at 7 feet, with shoes. This sort of length, combined with an elite jump shot, makes it nearly impossible for fellow forwards and wings to block him or defend him consistently. This man nearly averages a 50/40/90 line for his entire career, having averages of 27 points, seven rebounds, and four assists on 49.3% shooting from the field, 38.2% from three, and 88.3% from the free throw line. Since the 2011-2012 season, he’s never shot below 50% from the field. He’s been 94th percentile or above among forwards on points per shot attempt since 2011. He’s a four-time scoring champion. These are just some examples of his accolades and numbers, but it’s really hard to put into words how ridiculously efficient Durant is considering the high volume of shots he takes. It’s been like this ever since his second season as a member of the OKC Thunder. In his first year in the league, he averaged 20 points on 43% field goals and 29% from three, which is quite inefficient for his standards. By next year, he was already up to 25 points per game on 48% field goals and 42% from three. His high-scoring, efficient show continued in OKC for seven seasons before he decided that his “Next Chapter” would come in a Golden State Warriors jersey. When we thought KD was at the apex of the point where efficiency and volume could possibly meet, he proved us all wrong and took things to a whole different level. After averaging 29 points per game in seven seasons from his third year in the league to 2016, his last one in OKC, Durant didn’t have a single campaign of over 26 points per game in Golden State. That may sound like a step back, but KD actually took a step forward in efficiency. In his three years as a Warrior, he shot 52.4% from the field, compared to 49.2% in his previous seven seasons. His three-point shooting was equally lethal in OKC and Golden State, but it was his two-point shooting that shot up. Durant shot 58.6% on two-pointers while in Golden State, compared to 53.3% in OKC. The defensive gravity of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson allowed KD to drastically improve his efficiency in exchange for just three points per game. The partnership paid dividends, as the Warriors won two championships on the two years Durant was healthy, with both Finals MVP awards going to him as well. He was criticized by anybody who wasn’t a Warriors fan. He was told that he was a snake and a sellout, that he got two cheap rings after signing with the team that beat him in the playoffs, that his Finals MVP trophies didn’t mean a thing, that Steph Curry was the true leader of the team and that Durant could never lead a franchise to a championship as the alpha male. All of these things weighted hard on Durant’s mind, which is why he knew that when he became a free agent on the summer of 2019, he was out of San Francisco. Welcome to Hoopers Nation where we go over the latest NBA 2020 news, from life inside the NBA bubble to the backstories of players in the league. Today, we look at the Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. With the new addition of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant the Nets are looking like a real threat to the LeBron James and the rest of the NBA this 2021 season. Will Kevin Durant finally get his ring? Or will another be upset to the Eastern Conference. This makes the East a lot more interesting with the Nets now being better favorites to win the East, but not the NBA championship. Shows such as First Take, The Herd, First Things First, and other FS1 and ESPN shows. Kevin Durant highlights speak for themselves to show how good he is, but the real question is Kyrie Irving situation and when he plans to return. With James Harden aslo coming to the Nets it Puts Kyrie in the 3rd seat in the big 3 they formed #NBA #HoopersNation #Nets

His first move as the president of basketball operation of the Washington Wizards was to draft Kwame Brown with the first overall pick in that year’s Draft. Brown was a seven-foot center who was coming straight off high school and had the potential to be great; but instead, he became the biggest bust in NBA history and one of the biggest blemishes in MJ’s executive career. Brown never lived up to his potential, and the Wizards were so bad that Jordan took matters into his own hands and attempted to turn Washington’s bad fortunes around by making a comeback to NBA basketball. In his first season, MJ led the team in scoring, assists, and steals but was limited to only 60 games due to injury. In his second year in Washington and his last season of his playing career, Jordan received multiple honors and celebrations; the Wizards sold out every single game and did well ratings-wise, but Jordan was often unsatisfied by his teammates efforts, even going as far as publicly calling out Kwame Brown – his own hand-picked franchise cornerstone – for a lack of focus and intensity. That’s when MJ knew he had messed up by drafting him. His Airness assumed that after his third and last retirement, he’d have a spot back in the Wizards’ front office, but team owner Abe Pollin fired Jordan as the president of basketball operations given the underwhelming results. MJ later said he felt betrayed by the organization and that he would’ve never come out of retirement to play for Washington had he known he would be fired after calling it a career. The message was clear: the short, yet disastrous stint of MJ as an executive in Washington should have been his front office debut and farewell. But if you watched “The Last Dance”, you’d know somebody as competitive as MJ wouldn’t back down after that. How could he make sure nobody could fire him on his next front office stop? Becoming a team owner, of course! Jordan bought a minority stake with the then Charlotte Bobcats in 2006, and as part of the deal, he also took full control over the team’s basketball operations. They say history repeats itself, and that was exactly the case once again, as Jordan’s first move as the executive of the Charlotte Bobcats was to use the team’s third overall pick to draft Adam Morrison. Most people don’t even remember him; but that’s cool, don’t worry. We don’t expect you to remember a guy who was out of the league by the end of his rookie contract. This guy had “BUST” written all over him, as it was very evident by watching him in college that his style of play wasn’t a good fit at the next level. There were guys like Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, JJ Redick, Rajon Rondo, and Kyle Lowry all drafted later on in the first round, and Jordan picked arguably the guy with the worst potential from the field. Jordan kept wasting his lottery picks for an extra five years: Brandan Wright, Alexis Ajinca, Gerald Henderson, none of these guys were as good as their draft position indicated. But in 2011, MJ drafted Kemba Walker and finally got one right. He became the franchise’s most iconic figure down the line before inevitably leaving the organization. Another bunch of terrible lottery picks followed Walker: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Cody Zeller, Noah Vonleh, Frank Kaminsky. MJ actually drafted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in 2018 but immediately traded him away, which would end up being a terrible mistake. P.J. Washington in 2019 was a pretty solid addition, but the team continued to struggle as Kemba Walker, the only true star to ever play for the team, left for greener pastures. But this past year, Jordan took the risk other top lottery teams were afraid to take: drafting LaMelo Ball. Welcome to Hoopers Nation where we go over the latest NBA 2021 news, from life inside the NBA bubble to the backstories of players in the league. Today, we look at the Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets with their luck throughout the draft. Over the years Michael Jordan has been know to be one of the worst team owners in sports history, but with his recent choice in the 2020 NBA Draft that might change. He picked LaMelo Ball and it is looking good. After a scoreless first game he has only been improving. #NBA #HoopersNation #Hornets

It’s impressive how good James has managed to be for so long, and he’s seen and played against virtually every star of the 21st century. LeBron recently had some very interesting comments about Luka Doncic in which he heavily praised the 21-year old Wonder Boy. "Luka is one of my favorite players in the NBA today," James said on Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson’s show, the Road Trippin' podcast, last December. "For the simple fact of, the way I play the game is exactly how I love the way he plays the game. Team-first, gets his guys involved, if you challenge me to score, I'm gonna score. And at the same time, I'm gonna score, but I'm gonna keep my guys involved. ... I play for the team, and I'm gonna play with a sense of joy." PAUL PIERCE Younger fans may know Paul Pierce as the former NBA player who shares really bad takes on a basketball talk show. But back in the day “The Truth” was one of the most lethal scorers in the entire NBA, as well as one of the best small forwards in the game. The future Hall of Famer sure has to know a thing or two about true greatness when he sees it, right? When asked what he expected from Doncic before last year’s NBA playoffs, Pierce was straightforward and didn’t shy away from making a bold claim. DRAYMOND GREEN The Golden State Warriors’ big man is one of the most polarizing players in the NBA. He’s also one of the best defenders of all-time, as well as one of the smartest basketball minds in the league today. And after playing against Luka Doncic for the first time ever, the former Defensive Player of the Year had a lot of good things to say about him. KEVIN DURANT Another notable superstar that has voiced his opinion on Luka Doncic is Kevin Durant. KD was one of the many individuals impressed with Luka’s outstanding playoff debut, as he shared during “The Boardroom” podcast. "I think he's built to be a star, for sure," Durant said of Doncic. "I think he understands who he is, how he wants to play, and what the future holds for him." That’s certainly something hard to do. Very few players can come into the league ready to take the place they think they deserve. Sometimes it takes a couple of months of adapting into the league, but in other cases it takes players years upon years to get to where they want to be, the way they want to do it. Others simply never get there. You just don’t see many players as NBA-ready as Luka when he came into the league. SCOTTIE PIPPEN The O.G. point forward has also weighed in on what he expects from Doncic in the future. While appearing on ESPN’s The Jump in early 2020, Scottie Pippen said, “I think right now this kid’s game is propelling so much that he’s learning on the fly. He’s getting better and better night in and night out, and we’re seeing his dominance. He hasn’t started to play selfish basketball yet. When he does that, and really makes his presence known on the basketball court, he’s going to be a different animal.” Welcome to Hoopers Nation where we go over the latest NBA 2020 news, from life inside the NBA bubble to the backstories of players in the league. Today, we look at what NBA players are saying about the baby goat Luka Doncic. We look at what LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Paul Pierce, and Scottie Pippen have to say about Luka Doncic's game and great he has proven to be in just short time he is in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks and how they match up this 2021 NBA season. Doncic is only 21 and already in the conversation of being in the top 10 in the NBA only in his 3rd season. Even LeBron James said that he wanted to sign Luka to his sneaker brand in partnership with nike. #NBA #HoopersNation #LukaDoncic

Want to hear stories about LeBron James or Giannis Antetokounmpo, let us know in the comments below. Today, we look into the tragedy of the NBA that is injury. Injuries in the NBA have haunted many players throughout their careers from Isaiah Thomas to Yao Ming to Derrick Rose. Even know with the return of Kevin Durant next season the concern about how his injury will affect him is still great. 8. Isaiah Thomas Coming apparently out of nowhere, 5-foot-9 Isaiah Thomas shocked the world when, by the end of the 2016-17 regular season, Thomas had firmly put himself in the league MVP discussion. That was the year when Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double for the first time, so beating him and other worthy contenders like James Harden would always be tough, but nobody really expected Thomas to rise up to MVP-caliber 7. Brandon Roy Brandon Roy was having a magnificent NBA career until his knees gave out and he could play at a high level no more. Through Roy’s first four seasons a Trail Blazer, he averaged over 20 points and five assists while shooting almost 47% from the field and 35% from three. These were great numbers that brought the Blazers back to relevance as Roy balled out alongside a young LaMarcus Aldridge. In that period, he was also a three-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA player, and the 2007 Rookie of the Year. 6. DeMarcus Cousins His career might not be over yet, but it isn’t a stretch to say DeMarcus Cousins had cemented himself as the best center in the league before a career-altering left Achilles tear destroyed him. He was then teammates with bellow superstar big man Anthony Davis as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, who were on quite a run but struggled without Boogie. A torn Achilles is dreadful for any player, but for a center that never had the quickest feet and relied on his strength to 5. Yao Ming One of the most popular and charismatic players to ever step foot on an NBA court, Yao Ming had a huge impact on the league’s popularity increase in China with his dominant play. Standing at 7-foot-6, Yao was so tall and so strong that it was nearly impossible to guard him. He was an iron man through his first three seasons, missing only two games in that period. But since then, multiple leg and foot injuries started causing troubles. 4. Grant Hill Don’t get us wrong, Grant Hill had a long, successful career and averaged double-digit scoring every season except for his last one as a bench veteran with the LA Clippers in 2013. But if he had a solid career fighting a 2000 ankle injury that would never stop bothering him, we can’t imagine how much better he could have been if he had been fully healthy. 3. Magic Johnson Magic Johnson didn’t exactly suffer from an injury that ruined his career. In fact, he has one of the most decorated careers in NBA history and is widely considered the best point guard of all time. But right before the start of the 1991-92 season, a physical examination determined Johnson had tested positive for HIV. The announcement sent shockwaves through not only the league, but the whole country, and Johnson was forced to retire. 2. Penny Hardaway Speaking of really good oversized point guards, Penny Hardaway is another player who struggled thanks to problematic knee issues. Through his first four seasons in the league, Penny averaged 20 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, while making three All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams, two of which were All-NBA first selections. But before the 1997-98 season, Hardaway suffered a devastating left knee injury that cost him much of that season and required surgery. 1. Derrick Rose The player you have all been waiting for, pretty much everybody is familiar with Derrick Rose’s story. He went from a three-time All-Star, All-NBA, and youngest league MVP in history to constant rehab. Just after winning the 2011 MVP, Rose signed a five-year, $95 million contract with the Bulls for 30% of the salary cap following what became known as the Derrick Rose Rule. Unfortunately, in the Bulls’ first game of the 2012 playoffs, Rose tore his ACL and missed the whole ensuing season. For a player that relied so much on his elite athleticism and speed, and ACL tear was arguably the worst injury that could’ve happened to him. #NBA #HoopersNation #NBAInjuries

Today, we look at the Miami Heat and what they pulled in the 2020 NBA playoffs. Jimmy Butler came into the NBA bubble and just wrecked havoc with the rest of his team, steamrolling the Giannis and the Bucks and moving past the Pacers with ease. Now Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Erik Spoelstra, and the rest of the crew have stepped up in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat beat the Boston Celtics in game 6, advancing to the NBA Finals to face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. #HoopersNation #MiamiHeat #NBA It was early December 2019, almost ten months ago, when Jimmy Butler had a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols. The Heat was firing on all cylinders at that point, as they were undefeated at home throughout the first six weeks of the regular season and everything was going great in South Beach. In a half-jokingly manner, Nichols asked Butler about his team’s chances at making the NBA Finals. “Why not?” Butler answered. “I don’t see why we can’t. As long as we play hard, if we make shots for sure, but we got to be able to say our defense is our anchor.” At that time, Butler – or nobody for that instance – had any idea that a global pandemic would force the league to shut down less than a month before the NBA playoffs started and completely alter the landscape of NBA basketball as we knew it. No more crowds, no more long traveling or nights with little sleep, no more life distractions; the whole focus would be winning and basketball when the NBA resumed its season and held the 2020 playoffs inside the NBA Bubble. Jimmy surprisingly rejected the option he had to bring in family members to the Bubble for the playoffs, saying this is a “business trip.” He wants to be alone, fully focused on what’s ahead for his team. This NBA Bubble is exactly the environment Butler thrives in. And this is exactly the reason why the Heat made everything in their power to get Butler last offseason. The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler always sounded like a match made in heaven. Butler is a fierce competitor that prides on his great defense and guts to take and make timely and clutch shots; the Heat has long been an organization that has a defensive-first approach and likes to get the job done through team basketball. Miami was in desperate need of a star that could help them take their young core to the next level as they transitioned from the Dwyane Wade era. Butler just wanted a place where he could go compete for a championship, and be himself. “[Dwyane Wade] always told me the culture, the way that they work here, it’s you in every single way,” Butler said. “When I got here I could do nothing but smile, because of the way everyone talks to each other, the way everything is laid out on the table, you come in and work and then we have fun. This is the reason I play the game. These guys are like me in so many ways that I absolutely love being here, to compete with and for these guys. I’m having so much fun.” Butler is indeed having the time of his life in Miami, but it’s widely known he has butted heads with teammates and even coaches in the past for multiple reasons: lack of accountability, little competitiveness, passiveness; the list goes on and on. He infamously beat up the Timberwolves starters with the ‘third stringers’ shortly before being traded away from Minnesota, and chemistry issues prevented the Sixers from reaching their full potential last season. But ask anybody in the Heat’s locker room and they’ll dismiss the notion Butler is disruptive or a ‘locker room cancer’, as many labeled him. "Jimmy, despite probably what the narrative is out there, he's a very likable guy in the locker room and I think that helps in a setting like this,” said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra after one of their wins over the Bucks. “He is the ultimate competitor,” added teammate Meyers Leonard. “Everybody wondered, ‘Oh, well, is he too competitive? Or is he an a**hole?’ No, he’s not. He’s a winner.” Veteran Andre Iguodala put it best when he said, "He was disruptive toward his other teammates, but you put him around some guys that actually want to get to the grind, what did he do for them?
