In May 2008 Glantraeth Under 17s won two cup finals in a 14 day period with both wins coming over Anglesey Junior League Champions Holyhead Hotspur. The first at Cemaes Bay was a 2-1 win in the Bobby Hughes Memorial Shield and the second at Llanfairpwll a 4-3 win on penalties in the R.S.Gardner Cup after the game had ended 1-1 after extra-time.
