Bristol City v Middlesbrough 2010-11

Much needed and thumping win for Middlesbrough against Bristol City down at Ashton Gate. Leroy Lita continues his good good form with two goals and the shot which deflected off the Robins defender for Boros opener. Barry Robson also scored as hot young talent Cameron Park (last seen at Whitby Town) came on as sub for his debut to with the penalty from which Lita converted for the 4th.

Middlesbrough beat Cardiff City 1-0 at The Riverside in December 2010 thanks to a penalty from Julio Arca. This vid was part of the Willow Pond F.C. scouting report prior to them signing Arca when he left Boro in 2013 as you can see, every time Arca gets the ball he is highlighted. Got a good Scouting set up with all the latest technology those Willow Pond lads.

Tony Mowbrays first game in charge of Middlesbrough and it's a disaterous home defeat to Bristol City to leave his new team dangerously close to the bottom of the league. Here we see Kris Boyds goal for Boro in the 2-1 loss.

West Ham Utd v Middlesbrough 2008-09

Final match of the 2008-09 season and the challenge for Boro is simple - beat West Ham and hope that Newcastle and Hull lose in order to escape relegation. Newcastle and Hull kept their half of the bargain by losing to Aston Villa and Manchester United respectively. Boro lost. Their 12th consecutive away defeat which extended their already achieved club record and equalled a PL one, so were relegated to English Footballs second tier for the first time since 1997 with Ravanelli, Emerson and friends.

Middlesbrough v Aston Villa 1988-89
Middlesbrough v Aston Villa 1988-89

The first of four occasions upon which Boro score 3 goals at home this season but fail to take all 3 points. Fellow promotion winners Aston Villa are the visitors to Ayresome Park in December 1988 and equalise through Alan McInally to make the final score 3-3. Earlier, Andy Gray and McInally had put Villa 2-0 up only for Boro to race into a 3-2 lead with goals from Mark Brennan, Gary Hamilton and Tony Mowbray. Villa defender Martin Keown completed the first part of his future pub-quiz legacy by getting himself sent off (anyone else been sent off at both Ayresome Park and The Riverside?) and Roger Tames TV themed punning is based (I think) on Bruce Rioch saying something earlier in the week about television coverage of football.

Another vital win for Middlesbrough in the Division 3 promotion race of 1986-87. This time a 2-0 triumph at a sunny Ayresome Park against Brentford. Bernie Slaven scored the first for Boro with one of the lesser known members of the famous Class of 86 Lee Turnbull adding a second.
