On IPL match day six, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB took down Mumbai Indians in their first match of the season, thanks to Harshal Patel and AB de Villiers. SRH, on the other hand, were very disappointing in their first match, as they lost badly to KKR. In this match Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were able to build a strong enough first innings score to defeat SRH. Despite Warner's best efforts, Manish Pandey's slow batting, and a triple wicket over from Shahbaz Ahmed clinched it for RCB.
