Coachella struck first early in the opening period, but Jack Hughes answered to even things up at 1-1. The Firebirds regained the lead before Andre Lee came through with the equalizer to make it 2-2 and send it into overtime. Both teams traded chances in a hard-fought first overtime, but it was Coachella Valley finding the game-winner early in double overtime to take Game 5 and win the series 3-2.
