Liam Patterson-White picked up his second five-wicket haul in the space of three matches as Nottinghamshire enjoyed a productive first day of their LV= County Championship clash with Durham at Riverside. Having won the toss and opted to bowl first, Notts took two wickets before lunch as Luke Fletcher took his 600th scalp in all formats with the final ball of the morning. Durham amassed 96 runs by the interval, before fiery spells from overseas signings James Pattinson and Dane Paterson reduced the hosts to 135/5. However, Patterson-White stole the limelight by taking all of the final three wickets. That left Durham with a first innings total of 230, which the Green and Golds made inroads into in the 15 evening session overs they batted through, closing on 50 without loss.
