The Yankees came back to the Bronx this weekend against a red hot Oakland Athletics team. The Yankees unfortunately lost the first game but luckily won the next two. Lets Go Yankees!
5.04.21- The Yankees and Astros start their series Tuesday in the Bronx. It’s the first time Houston’s been back to the Bronx since the cheating scandal was revealed after 2019. If you watch my last video you’ll see Yankee fans reaction to the Astros live. The game didn’t start off great after Alex Bregman went yard to give Houston a 1-0 lead in the first. In the bottom half, red hot Giancarlo Stanton hit a two run homer to give the Yankees the lead. After the Astros eventually tied it up at 3 a piece, the Yankees finally broke it open in the 6th and never looked back and won the game by a score of 7-3. 5.05.21- On a rainy Wednesday night, the Yankees took the field in hopes of clinching the series in game 2. They jumped up early when Giancarlo Stanton hit ANOTHER two run homer to put the Yanks up 2-0 early. Unfortunately Jordan Montgomery gave the lead up right away as the Astros put a 3 spot on the board in the 4th. The Yankees tied the game up in the 5th on another Stanton RBI. The game remained tied until the 8th inning when Aaron Hicks delivered a go ahead hit, followed by a Gardner sac fly, and Stanton’s 4th rbi! The Yankees gave the ball to Chapman in the 9th and he was once again dominant recording his 7th save of the season. Yankees won 6-3. 5.06.21- The Yankees looking for a sweep, handed the ball to their ace Gerrit Cole. Cole didn’t seem to have his best stuff Thursday, only punching out 4 and giving up two solo shots, but even his “bad” days are pretty impressive. He was dominating the Astros lineup besides Yordan Alvarez. For the Yankees, Giancarlo Stanton got the scoring started early with another home run. After him, Clint Frazier hit a 2 run homer to put the Yankees ahead. Unfortunately the bullpen wasn’t sharp and the Astros took the lead on a Jose Altuve home run and that was the game changer right there. The Yankees ended up dropping the series finale by a score of 7-4. 4.30.21 : In the first game of the series the Yankees sent ace pitcher Gerrit Cole to the mound. Cole was in prime ace form throwing 6 shutout innings only allowing 4 hits and punching out 12. Luckily for Cole he didn’t have to stress to much when the offense puts up 10 runs for you. The Yankee offense was highlighted by two home runs from Aaron Judge, and more homers from Clint Frazier, Aaron Hicks, and Rougned Odor. Yankees were in the drivers seat all game and had an impressive win. FINAL/10-0. 5.1.21 : In game two of the series the Yankees sent Jameson Taillon to the mound in search for his first win in exactly two years to the date. He pitched pretty well going 5 strong allowing only 3 hits, 1 run, 3 walks and punching out 8. On the offensive end, there were no homers for the Bronx Bombers. They scored with some impressive fundamental baseball. Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres both had 3 RBIs and did all of the scoring while knocking in 6 combined runners. Justin Wilson struggled a bit in his outing giving up 2 runs, but Chad Green and Aroldis Chapman looked great as always this season. Chapman locked down his 5th save of the season after pitching the 9th and striking out 2. FINAL/6-4 5.2.21 : Looking to sweep the series, the Yankees turn to veteran pitcher Corey Kluber who was coming off an impressive last start in Baltimore. Kluber did not disappoint after going 8 strong innings only allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out a season high ten batters. There wasn’t much going on for the offense, only scoring two runs in the second inning thanks to an RBI double from Kyle Higashioka and an RBI sac fly from Brett Gardner. The Yankees took their 2-0 lead into the 9th where they called upon Aroldis Chapman in for his 6th save of the season. He again struck out 2 in his dominant 10 pitch inning to complete the sweep of the AJ Hinch led Tigers. FINAL/2-0 We hope you guys enjoyed this video! Check us out on all of our social media’s below!
