Bulls were active in the passing lanes but Lakers two 7 footers were also forcing blocks. Jordan had 15 pts in the quarter, while Kobe struggled with the Bulls defense shooting 2/7 from the field. Bynum however was effective in the paint and had 10 pts 6 rebs 21-19 after first quarter. In the secodn quarter the Bulls held the Lakers to 12 pts en route to a double digit advantage going into the half. Pippen had some success in the post and the triangle, scoring 18 pts while Jordan was resting in the bench. Bulls go up by douible digits, 45-31 at the half. In the third quarter, the Lakers continued their dry spell offensivel. THey trailed by as much as 22 in the period. Gasol was not showing any energy on offense while Kobe continued to struggle. The Bulls lead the LAkers by 21 heading into the 4th quarter. It was the same story in the 4th quarter as the Bulls continue to suffocate the Lakers on defense. Jordan had 14 in the 4th. Kobe was having moderate success here with 13 pts in the 4th but it was all for naught. THe Bulls led by as much as 30 and ended up winning by 20, 91-71. Jordan and Pippen combined for 78 pts, scoring 42 &36 respectively, handily winning their matchups. Rodman had 20 rebs and 11 assits, another double-double for him. Kobe Bryant finished with 24 pts on 11/35 shooting. Bynum had a double-double with 18 pts and 19 rebs. Odom added 15. Pau Gasol was largely MIA, 0 pts, 12 rebs.
