The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, took down the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 109-93 on Tuesday night. The Stars jumped out early and held a 30-22 advantage after the first quarter thanks to a 9-0 run midway through the quarter. Tyler Bey helped the Stars maintain control in the second quarter as the Stars led 50-43 at the half. Bey went into the break with 13 points and seven rebounds. Fort Wayne came out of the locker room with an 8-0 run to take a 51-50 lead, itsf irst since a 3-2 lead in the first quarter. That lead would be the final of the game for the Mad Ants as Yogi Ferrell kept them at bay with 20 second-half points. Led by Ferrell and Josh Green the Stars outscored the Mad Ants 29-17 in the final period to seal the victory. Ferrell finished with a season-high 29 points and added four assists, three steals, and a pair of rebounds. Green also contributed across the board with 22 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and four steals. Bey collected his fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and a season-best 17 rebounds. Oshae Brissett led the Mad Ants with 23 points while Devin Robinson added a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds off the bench. The Mad Ants committed 24 turnovers leading to 38 points for the Stars. The loss knocked Fort Wayne out of playoff contention for the 2021 NBA G League season.

The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, fell to the Lakeland Magic 104-84 on Wednesday night. The Stars will finish the 2021 NBA G League season on Friday against Delaware at 5 p.m. on ESPN+. Josh Green led the charge for the Stars early with eight first-quarter points and three rebounds to put Salt Lake City up 27-21 after the first quarter. Lakeland would start the second quarter on an 11-2 run to take the lead and would go into the half up 58-49. Trevon Scott kept the Stars in it with 14 first-half points. The Stars made a run of their own in the third quarter to get back into the game, ripping off 12 unanswered points to tie the game at 61. The Magic pushed the lead back out double digits by the end of the third quarter before the Stars would again claw back into it with a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to four points halfway through the fourth quarter. The comeback would fall short as the Stars went cold and scored just four points in the final six minutes. Gil, Trevon Scott, and Mike Scott each scored 14 points to lead the Stars. Green added 10 points along with a team-high six assists and five rebounds. The Stars forced 25 turnovers leading to 23 points but were outrebounded 62-29 by the Magic. Lakeland was led by 20 points and 13 rebounds from D.J. Hogg. The Magic bench, led by Hogg, scored 68 of the Magic’s 104 points. Justin Jackson scored 17 in just 12 minutes off the bench, while Robert Franks led the starting unit with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
