However the best offense in baseball could not contain the Rangers, as they defeated New York 6-4 in game 2. The left-handed Cole Hammels limited the Yanks to just four hits over 7 innings while striking out seven and giving up two walks. Keone Kela got the save, pitching a perfect 9th inning. Jurickson Profar and Ronald Guzman homered for Texas off of Domingo German, who had a shaky outing despite striking out the side in the 3rd. Aaron Boone received his first ejection in his big league career in the 6th.
