On Sunday 3 February 2019 Sydney FC hosted Melbourne City in Round 17 of the A-League 2018/19 season. Sydney took the lead early through Luke Ivanonic who was making a debut as a starting player, and Sydney had the better share of chances but the game remained 1-0 until the 80th minute, when Melbourne City were given a soft penalty and a chance to level the game. But it wasn't to be for Melbourne City, as Andrew Redmayne saved his 4th penalty of the season (including 1 in the FFA Cup) to keep Sydney in the lead. The game finished 2-0 to Sydney FC, with Adam Le Fondre scoring late in the game to make the points safe.
Adam Le Fondre's penalty goal to level the scores at 1-1.
