Washington added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the victory. Anthony Edwards (28 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists) and Karl-Anthony Towns (28 points, 12 rebounds) combined for 56 points for the Timberwolves in the losing effort. The Mavericks win the best-of-seven series, 4-1, and will face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV, with Game 1 taking place on Thursday, June 6 (8:30 pm/et, ABC). Luka Doncic won the Western Conference Finals MVP. The Mavericks are the second 5-seed to reach the NBA Finals since 1984, joining the 2020 Miami Heat. The Mavericks are the 11th team to make the NBA Finals after missing the postseason the season prior. Such teams are 4-6 in the Finals. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are the second pair of teammates (third instance) to score 30+ points in the same game three times or more in a single postseason series.
