For many years, Yankees vs. Red Sox -- what many regard as the top rivalry in baseball, in all sports for that matter -- wasn't much of one. Tuesday marked just the fifth time they've been matched up in the postseason, and just the second time they've met in a one-game, elimination affair. The other was a Game 163 tiebreaker to decide the American League East title in 1978. Boston got a measure of revenge on Tuesday as the Red Sox chased Yankees ace, Gerrit Cole, from the wild-card game after two innings and knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs with a 6-2 victory.
