FA Cup 3rd round Sheffield Utd vs Barnet FC

After an amazing act of giantkilling at Bramall Lane, Barnet winning the game 1-0 with a Coulthirst penalty, the Barnet players and new temporary manager Darren Currie took time to show their appreciation for the highly vocal fans.

There was no fairytale ending at Griffin Park on the evening of Tuesday 5th February. Championship side Brentford won the 4th round replay fairly comfortably, the final result being 3-1. However the Bees of non-league Barnet did well to come back in the second half, attempting numerous attacks against Brentford and Tutonda scored a more than deserved consolation goal. After the game the Barnet players and staff acknowledged the travelling Bee Army, Barnet have had an amazing Cup run and the 1500 fans showed their appreciation. There would have been even more if the away fans had been offered a larger allocation of tickets, but the ones there were vocal enough.

Saturday 25th April 2015, the final game of the season, Barnet were playing at their home, The Hive, against Gateshead. Barnet were just one point clear at the top of the Conference table above Bristol Rovers and so a win would secure promotion. Barnet went ahead in the first half with a header from Mauro Vilhete. In the second half Mauro scored again, final result 2-0. Bristol had won 7-0 but it didn't matter. Cue the inevitable pitch invasion, followed by the presentation of the trophy on the pitch, and the players parading the trophy around the pitch for the jubilant fans. What a fantastic afternoon!

The Barnet players came onto the pitch 2 by 2 and made their way to the podium to be presented with the Conference trophy.
