The clash that is guaranteed to test nerves. It’s Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi today, and one of them is going straight into the final of the tournament on Sunday, March 17. PSL 2018 Eliminator Last year again, the arch-rivals faced off in the do-or-die Eliminator 1 in Lahore, where Peshawar Zalmi again beat Quetta Gladiators by, you guessed it, one run! With the defeat, Quetta were eliminated from the tournament and Peshawar were beaten by Islamabad in the final. Quetta and Peshawar will be raring to go in action against each other again today, and rest assured, it is all set to be another thriller. Batsmen to look out for Quetta Gladiators’ biggest star attraction is Shane Watson, who is also this tournament’s highest scorer so far with 352 runs at an insane strike rate of 140.80. Ahmed Shehzad looks in formidable form too, especially after his 99 against Karachi Kings on Sunday. ICC rankings: Shaheen Afridi becomes no 1 ODI bowler Pakistan's sensational pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has become the number one bowler in the one-day international (ODI) following his impressive performance in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. The 23-year-old fast bowler has topped the ICC ODI rankings by gaining seven points with Australia's Josh Hazelwood and India's Mohammed Siraj in the second and third place, respectively. On Tuesday, Shaheen became the quickest fast-bowler to complete 100 wickets in the ODI during the match against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Pakistan's skipper Babar Azam has retained his top position in the batting rankings. India's Shubman Gill is only two points behind him. Babar has 818 points while Shubman has 816 points. World Cup 2023: Afghanistan inflict seven-wicket defeat on Sri Lanka In yet another victory, Afghanistan on Monday crushed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in a comfortable run chase in the 30th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, India. Hashmatullah Shahidi's men recorded back-to-back wins for the first time in the history of the tournament, as before this year's mega event, they had only one victory in two World Cups — 2015 and 2019. Just like their last victory against Pakistan, where they chased down 282 with eight wickets to spare, the Afghans played with remarkable temperament and didn't play rash and sloppy shots. Even though they met with an early blow as in-form batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was removed by Dilshan Madushanka in the first over, Rahmat Shah and Ibrahim Zardan provided the much-needed stability to their batting. Shah was the key to Afghanistan's run chase as the right-handed batter played an important knock of 62 runs off 74 balls with seven fours. After Shah was removed by Kasun Rajitha, skipper Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzi built a match-winning partnership of 111 runs and cruised their side to an important win. Shahidi scored 58 runs while Omarzai contributed 72 runs as they helped their side chase down the 242-run target in 45.2 overs. Batting first, Sri Lankan batters were troubled by Afghanistan's bowlers as none of the single batters, other than Pathum Nissanka who scored 46 runs, could manage to score big.
