South Florida Local 10's Laurie Jennings sits down with Ray Allen and his family about their fight against type one diabetes and recent tour of the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami. Ray's s 7-year-old son, Walker, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 17 months old, and the Allens have since become active advocates for diabetes research. South Florida Philanthropists, Andria and Javier Holtz, introduced the Allens to the Diabetes Research Institute, and have joined forces to raise awareness and money toward finding a cure.
