We are on the final stretch of the Bundesliga season! While Bayer 04 Leverkusen is competing for the Champions League slots, Hertha BSC is fighting for survival. The "Big City Club" from Germany's capital is in great danger of getting relegated to the second division. With only 7 matches remaining, Hertha needs every point possible to stay afloat. Most German Ultra-groups announced, that they will return to the stadiums this match day. My pleasure to return to the stadium myself. Electric atmosphere, waving flags, chants that will give you goosebumps and beautiful flares in the terraces... Damn, how much did I miss this!! Ready for a genuine German football experience? Another weekend – another gameday – another stadium vlog! Today I take you to Cologne’s RheinEnergie Stadium, better known as Müngersdorf Stadium. The home of FC Cologne (1. FC Köln) is well-known to be one of the most atmospheric venues here in Football Germany and their passionate fans belong in the group of the most enthusiastic supporters in DFB country. My club Union Berlin is in town and and round about 1000 supporters made their trip from Berlin-Köpenick to the Rhine metropolis. Sadly without any Ultras, since both Ultra-groups of Cologne and Union decided to stay away from the game. What could have been one of the most electric atmospheres in a Bundesliga match, sadly turned out to be a little settled. That just shows you how much German fans rely on the Ultras. Never the less, the game had its exciting moments with the goals of Julian Ryerson and Grischa Prömel for Union, and two-times scorer Anthony Modeste, one of the most likable players in the League. October the 3rd, 2021 – Germany celebrates Unity Day, I celebrate the first 3 away points of the season for my club 1. FC Union Berlin. Even though there are still harsh restrictions on entering the stadiums here in Germany, 600 Union Berlin supporters made their way to Mainz, and I was one of them!
