And the German says all thoughts of adding to his attack have been put on hold as he focuses on getting the best out of Timo Werner and co. Erling Braut Haaland is among the strikers on Chelsea’s radar this summer – but Tuchel’s priority is unlocking the talent he already has if he is to secure Champions League qualification this season. He has so far only seen one of his strikers score since taking charge at Stamford Bridge last month – Tammy Abraham in Thursday’s FA Cup win at Barnsley. But he insists that will change – and that transfer targets have been put on the back-burner. Ahead of Monday’s game against Newcastle, Tuchel said: “The good thing about arriving in the middle of the season is you don’t lose your head by thinking about other players.
