This is actually good news because it indicates Harden’s MRI on the hamstring very likely didn’t show any tearing, ruling out a grade 2 or 3 hamstring injury. However, a grade 1 injury - which typically comes with a 7-14 day return - still can’t be ruled out because micro-tears that can characterize grade 1 injuries may not show up on imaging. That grey area along with this being James’ third problem with that hamstring this season, how Harden’s initial hamstring issue this year was diagnosed as “tightness” and then evolved into a higher severity issue once he tried to play on it, and the Nets having a 1-0 lead in the series all points towards the Nets medical staff being cautious with his return.
