Mumbai City FC registered their first victory of the Indian Super League 2017-18 when they beat FC Goa 2-1 in their second league fixture of the season at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. Mumbai took the lead when Everton dos Santos took advantage of some sloppy play by FC Goa goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani in the second half. However, Manuel Arana equalised for the visitors and the spoils were going to be shared but for Thiago dos Santos’ late winner just minutes later.

Dimitar Berbatov went off early with an injury but it didn’t matter as Mark Sifneos gave Kerala an early lead. However, Manuel Lanzarote equalised almost immediately for Goa and then scored again minutes later to give the home side the lead. Jackichand Singh then equalised for Kerala before half-time. After the break, Ferran Corominas gave Goa the lead early in the second half then doubled it almost immediately. He then completed his hat-trick just minutes later to give the home side a well-deserved victory.
That is a win for Chennai. It was a night where Jeje picked up his game a few notches. And through his brilliant play Chennai notch third straight win in the competition. But spare a thought for ATK, who did really well just to equalise everytime Chennai was in front

FC Pune City beat Mumbai City FC 2-1 in a tightly contested Maharashtra derby in Pune. Balwant Singh gave Mumbai an early lead and Mumbai defended well for most of the game, keeping the home side at bay. However, Raju Gaikwad gave away a penalty in the 73rd minute which Emiliano Alfaro duly converted.
