Grushka grew up in South Florida in Coral Springs. He played youth football for the Coral Springs Chargers, which was run by his father, Don. My video interview with Raush Manfio at American Top Team in (South Florida) Coconut Creek. Manfio (13-3) battles Clay Collard (20-8) in the semifinals of the Professional Fighters League (PFL) Playoffs in the lightweight division on Aug. 13 from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near (South Florida) Hollywood. Manfio, 29, is from Brazil. He participated in the Ultimate Fighter Brazil Season 4 and competed in Titan FC. The PFL semifinals in various weight categories will be conducted on three nights in August at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in South Florida. Manfio is part of opening night, which will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN+ on Aug. 13. PFL semifinals will continue on Aug. 19 and Aug. 27 via various ESPN networks and streaming platforms. PFL is the only pro MMA organization utilizing a regular season and playoff format. Elite competitors from six weight classes are set to take the next step in August, vying for a world title at the 2021 PFL Championships later this year. Each champion also earns $1 million. In his debut match in 1995 for WCW, Wight as The Giant beat Hulk Hogan for the WCW title. He competed for WCW from 1995-99. He signed with WWE in 1999, becoming The Big Show, lasting til 2007. After a year with Memphis Wrestling, he returned to WWE in 2008 and remained through January 2021. Seventeen students from the HEAT Academy mentoring program earned four-year college scholarships, courtesy of Carnival Corp. and presented by Carnival, the Miami HEAT and Florida Prepaid College Foundation. The mentoring program was sponsored by Carnival and the HEAT in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. Francesca Aguirre (MAST Academy), Angie Betancourt (Miami Senior HS) and Nicole Cruz (Young Women’s Prep Academy) and more were recognized during a ceremony at halftime of the HEAT/Portland Trailblazers basketball game at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Each also received a laptop, courtesy Carnival Foundation, Dell and Microsoft.
