Ivory Coast defeated Ethiopia 3-1 in their final group

Ivory Coast defeated Ethiopia 3-1 in their final group K, Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match at the Alassane stadium in Abidjan but both sides managed to seal a place in next year’s tournament. The victory saw the Elephants finish at the top of Group K while Ethiopia qualified in second position after Madagascar and Niger played to a goalless draw. It took just three minutes for the Elephants to take the lead through Willy Boly then Franck Kessie doubled the lead from the spot in the 19th minute. Ethiopia scored with 16 minutes left on the clock but Ivory Coast sealed the win in the 76th minute. Central Africa Republic were beaten 1-0 by Mauritania in the other match played today.
