We often get treated to some spectacular views sitting in the pointy end of an airliner. Here is some footage from a flight going from Kolkata to Medinah but which we had to then divert to Jeddah because of a massive thunderstorm over Medinah when we arrived. The cloudscapes give a fantastic sense of the 3d space we travel through and really just how the thin the atmosphere actually is. We climbed up to 34000' which is over 3/4 the height of the 747's maximum cruising altitude capability but still well above the heights where humans can survive without supplemental oxygen. This energy within this thin band of air breathes life into all of us but also can unleash the awesome power of Charlie, you know, Johnny Bravo's angry brother. Music : Estranged - Guns 'n Roses
