Season finale | Kashiwa Reysol vs FC Tokyo | Levain Cup final

Kashiwa Reysol and FC Tokyo met in the Levain Cup final at the New National Stadium on a very unfamiliar date: January 4th, 2021. This was the untraditional season finale. The Levain Cup was postponed from October, and for the first time in J.League history became the final game of the season. And this was the experience as Kashiwa Reysol and FC Tokyo - both two-time winners of the Levain Cup - met in a final unlike another in front of a sell-out crowd at the New National Stadium in the Japanese capital. A fitting end to the most unusual of Japanese football seasons. Out for revenge | Kashiwa Reysol v Kyoto Sanga | Emperor's Cup third round

On the final day of the 2019 J2 season, Kyoto Sanga lost 13-1 to Kashiwa Reysol. The third round of this year's Emperor's Cup sent Sanga back to the site of their worst ever defeat. Would they be able to exact revenge and book a place in the fourth round? I also take a look at this season's Emperor's Cup so far and the poor performances of J.League teams. Champions elect? | Kawasaki Frontale vs Vegalta Sendai | J1 League

Top of the league by some distance, playing irresistible football and facing a team plagued by issues both on and off the pitch. J1 League leaders Kawasaki Frontale would surely destroy struggling Vegalta Sendai, wouldn't they? Well... Throw in typhoon rain, squandered chances, stubborn defending and fighting spirit, and this is what you get. Some typically unpredictable J.League football. This was the experience at Todoroki Stadium on an incredibly wet night for some top-level Japanese football. The new reality of watching football in Japan | Omiya Ardija v Tokyo Verdy | J2 League
The new reality of watching football in Japan | Omiya Ardija v Tokyo Verdy | J2 League

Football fans are back in J.League stadiums after more than four months. This was the experience on the first weekend back at NACK5 Stadium as Omiya Ardija took on Tokyo Verdy in J2. There were many safety measures in place, including temperature checks and alcohol hand sanitiser at the entrance. Masks were compulsory. The attendance was also limited, with seats blocked to maintain social distancing. And that wasn't all. Artificial crowd noise, no singing, no flag waving and cardboard cutout squirrels on the terraces. It's football, but not as we know it. To see what NACK5 was like before the lockdown, then check out this match day experience from last season when Omiya Ardija hosted Avispa Fukuoka in J2: https://youtu.be/bf4tTGrqvNc To find out more about Omiya Ardija, check out their club profile on the official Lost in Football Japan website: https://lostinfootballjapan.com/club-profiles/omiya-ardija/ And to find out more about Tokyo Verdy, check out their club profile here: https://lostinfootballjapan.com/club-profiles/tokyo-verdy/ Follow Lost in Football Japan https://twitter.com/lifjapan https://www.instagram.com/lostinfootb... https://www.facebook.com/LostinFootba... https://lostinfootballjapan.com/
