Eric Cantona waxed lyrical about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's impact on Manchester United and Paul Pogba. The club legend was full of praise for the interim manager, who he credits as getting the very best out of his midfield star. 'Paul Pogba is great, now. Ole has found the right position for him, he has a great vision and pass, he can score and assist goals, organise the game and defend,' the Frenchman told Paddy

Borussia Dortmund restored their three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga thanks to a 3-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Jadon Sancho scored the pick of the goals - firing home a stunning volley from inside the box during the first half. But it was far from straightforward for Lucien Favre's side, who took the lead through Dan-Axel Zagadou on the half hour. Kevin Volland equalised for the visitors a minute before

Marc Andre ter Stegen sent fans into raptures on Tuesday after he pulled off a sensational save to deny Lyon forward Martin Terrier. Barcelona went on to draw the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with the Ligue 1 side, but that wouldn't have been the case if it wasn't for the right hand of the visitors' stopper. After a clipped pass from Ferland Mendy, Moussa Dembele chested the ball

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has called on supporters to rally behind the team ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League knockout tie against Borussia Dortmund. The captain's call to arms comes amid slumping attendances at Wembley. The recent home game against Watford saw less than 30,000 turn up as supporters become disgruntled with the delayed move to the new White Hart Lane. The attendance in the 3-1 victory over Leicester was back up beyond 44,000 but over 82,000 attended when Tottenham hosted Barcelona in the Champions League earlier in the season. Lloris said: 'We need the stadium to push, to help us. In some days it's difficult to deal with Wembley but hopefully in this big game we'll receive this help from the crowd.' In the Premier League, Tottenham remain within five points of Liverpool and Manchester City after beating Leicester. Lloris made a string of excellent stops including a penalty save when Jamie Vardy took the kick with his first touch as a substitute. Lloris said: 'I know him a little more than other players. He usually shoots strong and he can go everywhere [in the goal]. But on his first touch? You need intuition and a bit of luck [to save it].' Lloris also warned Spurs must produce a better performance against Dortmund after Leicester had 20 shots on goal. The Frenchman added: 'Leicester played in a fantastic way and I think we won the game thanks to our spirit and character. Without that, we could not win this game. 'I think we need to improve the team performance. We won but against a bigger side we couldn't have won that type of game. It's up to us. The mentality is great in the changing room and we showed that again on a difficult day.'

PSG trained at Old Trafford on Monday evening little more than 24 hours before the beggining of their Champions League last-16 tie with Manchester United. The Paris giants will face United for the first time ever in a competitive match on Tuesday night as their two-legged European clash gets underway. But PSG winger Angel Di Maria will find himself in familiar surroundings, having spent the 2014-15 season as a United player. Di Maria did not enjoy the best of times in England, but he looked relaxed as he trained alongside his PSG team-mates on the eve of Tuesday's first leg. Along with Kylian Mbappe, 30-year-old Di Maria will be one of the biggest names on PSG's Old Trafford team-sheet as star duo Neymar and Edinson Cavani are set to miss the game through injury. There had been a glimmer of hope that Cavani may shake off a thigh issue to feature, but PSG confirmed on Monday that he will not be in their squad this week. Right back Thomas Meunier is also unavailable, forcing PSG boss Thomas Tuchel to make changes, although he is reluctant to tweak his tactics too much. Speaking via a translator on Monday, Tuchel said: 'Obviously we're going to be missing a couple of key attackers, but you don't change your identity for that reason. 'We have a tradition, we play attacking football and that is how we're used to playing — to create chances. 'It's in our DNA. That's how we play. To change it is really difficult.'

Under-fire Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri watched on as his players were put through their paces in training on Monday afternoon while his future remained far from certain. The Italian was left clinging to his job on Sunday night after Chelsea’s embarrassing 6-0 defeat at Manchester City. But it appeared to be business as usual for the Blues as Sarri watched on as his players turned their attention to their Europa League clash with Malmo on Thursday night. Assistant Gianfranco Zola appeared to be the one leading the session while Sarri was involved in a deep discussion on the touchline with captain Cesar Azpilicueta. Sarri was not wearing his usual Chelsea kit as he came into the training ground for his post-match debrief and instead watched the practice at the club's Cobham base in his own clothing. He looked an isolated figure at times and appeared to be in deep thought while looking at the floor as the session unfolded in front of him. Most of those involved in the session appeared to be second-string players with those who played in the humiliating defeat were given time to recover. The 60-year-old will only lose his job if owner Roman Abramovich decides to intervene and cut him loose. Club director Marina Granovskaia made the decision to hire Sarri in the summer after being attracted by 'some of the most exciting football in Europe' from his Napoli team. Granovskaia does have the power to end Sarri's reign but that would be unlikely given he was her appointment last year. Sarri remained coy over his future on Sunday and, when asked if he was expecting a call from Abramovich, pointed towards the power structure at Chelsea. ‘You have to ask the club,’ Sarri said amid growing calls for his removal after a fourth defeat in eight games. ‘I’m worried about my team. I’m worried about the performance. My job is always at risk. ‘If the president calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him. ‘To be honest, I don’t know what to expect. I didn’t see my football. At the beginning of the season it worked. Now we need to understand the reasons why it isn’t working. It is not easy.’ Chelsea players looked particularly downbeat as they pulled into the club's Cobham training base on Monday morning. Willian, David Luiz and N'Golo Kante were among those seen driving into the facility as they swiftly returned to the training pitch. An under-pressure Sarri must now rouse his players for Thursday's Europa League knockout tie with Swedish side Malmo. Things then get even tougher as they face a rejuvenated Manchester United in the FA Cup next Monday. Former Chelsea captain Frank Lampard is the bookmakers' favourite to become the next permanent boss if Sarri is shown the door. Lampard has impressed so far this season with Derby County in the Championship in what is his first job as a manager since ending his illustrious playing career. Lampard has been installed as 2/1 favourite with a few firms, edging out three-time Champions League winner Zinedine Zidane, who is yet to return to management since leaving Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho, sacked by Manchester United in December, is out at 12/1 for a return to Chelsea for a third spell. Lampard enjoyed a trophy-laden career as a player at Chelsea and would be a hit with supporters if he does one day become first-team manager. He returned to Stamford Bridge with Derby earlier this season and received a hero's welcome before his side gave the hosts a scare before losing 3-2.

Vishwa Fernando took a career-best four for 62 as Sri Lanka made an encouraging start to the first Test against South Africa in Durban. Fernando removed openers Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar and the hosts were reeling on 17 for three before Faf du Plessis and Temba Bavuma steadied the ship. Du Plessis hit 35 and Bavuma 47 as the duo put on a crucial 72 for the fourth wicket, before Quinton de Kock top-scored with 80. However, wickets fell steadily around de Kock and South Africa were eventually dismissed for 235. Dale Steyn struck early to remove Lahiru Thirimanne but Sri Lanka were nicely placed at 49 for one at the close of play.

Rotherham moved two points clear of the Championship relegation zone after a rousing second-half comeback secured a 2-2 draw at Hull. Jarrod Bowen and Fraizer Campbell, with their 16th and 10th goals of the season respectively, fired the Tigers into a 2-0 half-time lead at the KCOM Stadium. But Millers boss Paul Warne changed the game with his substitutions, bringing on Anthony Forde and Jon Taylor. Forde gave Rotherham hope by pouncing on a mistake from David Marshall following good work from Taylor, who then saw his shot deflected in to level the scores in the 55th minute. Defender Clark Robertson, passed fit following an ankle injury, had headed a long Joe Mattock free-kick well wide for Rotherham in the opening minute. Yet the Millers' chances of ending their 40-game winless streak on the road in the second tier appeared to go up in smoke just a minute later. A delightful through ball from Evandro pierced the visiting defence, allowing Bowen time and space to fire right-footed across Marek Rodak and into the far corner. Hull were oozing confidence and a deserved second goal arrived in the 23rd minute through Campbell, who bundled home Kamil Grosicki's cross from close range. Tigers goalkeeper Marshall had to be alert to parry a Richie Towell snapshot, but normal service resumed soon after for the hosts. Rodak was forced to scramble back to claw out a Grosicki cross that caught him off guard before Jackson Irvine curled an ambitious effort from distance over the top. Hull: Marshall; Lichaj, McKenzie, Ridgewell, Kingsley; Bowen, Henriksen, Irvine, Grosicki (Pugh 71); Evandro (Milinkovic 78); Campbell (Martin 82) Subs not used: Burke, Stewart, Long, Kane Goals: Bowen 2, Campbell 23 Rotherham: Rodak; Ihiekwe, Wood (Taylor 46), Robertson; Vyner, Vaulks, Ajayi, Towell (Crooks 71), Mattock; Smith, Yates (Forde 38) Subs not used: Price, Newell, Williams, Jones Goals: Forde 48, McKenzie 55 (o.g.) Booked: Vyner Warne attempted to turn the tide in the 38th minute, replacing Jerry Yates with Forde, and Will Vaulks almost gave him an instant response. The midfielder stung the palms of Marshall with a 25-yard piledriver to hand the Millers, second best in all aspects, some encouragement. Warne then introduced Taylor and his side responded by scoring twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Having advanced down the right wing, Taylor delivered a cross that Marshall spilled into the path of Forde, who tapped into the empty net in the 48th minute. Then, seven minutes later, Marshall could do nothing to keep out a Taylor shot that took a huge deflection off Robbie McKenzie and nestled in the bottom corner. Suddenly, Rotherham were in control and Marshall was forced to tip over headers from Robertson and Michael Ihiekwe. Hull were rattled, incensing the home fans with their sloppy play, although Grosicki's volley almost squirmed through Rodak's hands. Vaulks scuffed a shot wide late on for Rotherham while Irvine headed off target unmarked for Hull.
