FA Cup football was back in Thatcham, and this time we faced Salisbury FC in the First Qualifying Round. Both teams have had good starts to the season with 'The Whites' sitting 6th in the Southern League Premier Division South. This was Thatcham's second FA Cup fixture, but Salisbury's first and it turned out to be an eventful start to their FA cup run! Thatcham Town FC vs North Leigh FC | FA Trophy Highlights
Our first FA Trophy match this season saw us face Southern League Division 1 Central side North Leigh FC. The Oxfordshire based side previously beat Melksham Town on penalties to reach the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy, whereas the Kingfishers were handed a bye in the First Qualifying Round. There would also be a few familiar faces returning to Waterside Park, as North Leigh started the game with Harry Grant and Jon Mills. Harry was one of our FA Vase heroes who also won the Hellenic League to get promotion back to the Southern League. Jon was one of last season's players who were gunning for promotion, and made an instant impact on his debut by scoring within the first minute against Basingstoke Town. Thatcham Town FC vs Hungerford Town FC | Berks & Bucks Cup Highlights
Mid-week football under the flood-lights for Thatcham, as they faced local rivals Hungerford Town in the Berks & Bucks Cup. Both sides had many players that have played for both as Kingfishers and Crusaders throughout their playing careers. No weekend game for Hungerford gave them a few extra days to focus on the match, whereas Thatcham suffered defeat in the FA Trophy against Enfield Town.
