1997/1998 NBA Preseason game There was at least one indication Friday night that Michael Jordan might have come back a bit too soon from toe surgery. He missed a breakaway dunk. But in typical Jordan fashion, he rebounded quite nicely, scoring 15 points during a span of 8:45 in the third quarter as the Chicago Bulls took a 113-101 exhibition win over the Philadelphia 76ers in Chapel Hill, N.C.The nine-time NBA scoring champion had surgery Sunday to remove ingrown toenails and was expected to miss the preseason game at his alma mater and in his home state. But Jordan said he had recovered faster than expected and wanted to play in front of many fans who rooted for him when he was a star in the early '80s at North Carolina. Jordan played the first and third quarters - 24 minutes - before leaving with 18 points and five assists.
