The ball was played perfectly behind the defense, and Jota leaked through, after using a touch to gather he sent it to his inside foot and put it to the bottom left of the net outside of the keeper’s reach to double the Liverpool lead. Mo Salah got the second half going for Liverpool with a goal coming just 2 minutes out of the break to push the Liverpool lead to three. Then Liverpool essentially iced the game just 2 minutes later with another goal, this one came by way of Sadio Mané in the 49’. Diogo Jota capped his hat trick in the 54’ giving Liverpool a 5-0 lead. Atalanta wouldn’t be able to do anything else in the final part of the second half and Liverpool would come away with a big 5-0 win in Group D action.
