Soccer Drills To Improve Ball Control

So just like in the Neymar video, I show you some drills while talking over them to explain each one. I feel that this is a great way for you guys to learn as you get a visual demonstration of everything, while also having me explain it to you. Here is more info on each drill. #1 Juggling For Better Ball Control Like you see in the first drill, I am juggling in order to improve my ball control. I maintain that this is a fantastic way to improve your control. In the first instance you'll see that I am alternating feet with each touch. Experiment with small touches and larger touches, but keep it under control. #2 One Touch, Two Touch This is similar to juggling except now you are going to be hitting the ball up to your hands each time. This is great to improve your touch and feel for the ball. Do a version for one touch, and one for two touch. #3 Stopping The Ball Dead Although I'd like you to use a box for all of these drills, this one you'll definitely need one. You are going to pop the ball up fairly high and then try and stop it dead at your feet. You can use your chest and thighs as well if you want. this is a little harder to do, but it needs to be learned. Try to stay in the box if you can. #4 In The Box, Out The Box This is similar to the previous drill, except now you will be taking your first touch in a certain direction. So you'll keep it up like normal except this time you'll touch the ball into the box or out of the box depending where the ball goes. If the ball is landing outside the box, try and take your first touch so that it goes into the box. If the ball is landing inside the box, take your first touch so it goes outside the box. #5 Stepping Up Our Juggling Game This is one of my favorites. It starts off as simple juggling, but then turns into a much more advanced drill. Every few touches I want you to hit the ball high into the air, and then control the ball without it touching the ground. Continue juggling and keep doing this. Try and stay in the box. If the ball goes outside the box, just control it and bring it back in. If you can do this drill very well, that means your ball control is becoming very good.
