EID MUBARAK EVERYONE! Arsenal travelled to Stamford Bridge as massive underdogs coming up against Champions League and FA Cup finalists Chelsea in a game we had to win if we are to have any chance of qualifying for Europe. We matched Chelsea with a 3-4-3 and went up against them man for man! It worked. Arsenal won 1-0 thanks to an error from Jorginho which allowed Aubameyang to capitalise and assist Smith-Rowe for his 2nd goal in as many games. Arsenal have done the double over Chelsea for the first time since 2003/04 season and won at Stamford Bridge for the first time sine 2010/11 season! Arsenal hosted Brighton & Hove Albion on the final game of the season knowing a win and for other teams around us to do us a favour could secure European football next season. It wasn't meant to be; Arsenal did their job, winning 2-0, thanks to 2 goals from in-form Nicolas Pepe, however Tottenham also won away from home which meant Arsenal ended up finishing in 8th, a point behind their North London neighbours. Arsenal said goodbye to David Luiz after 2 season with the club; we wish him well in his future endeavours and know he is always welcome to London Colney anytime! The club also said goodbye to Steve Bould after an incredible 30+ years with the club and most recently the U23 manager; thank you Steve. Willian finally opened his Arsenal account in a resounding 3-1 Arsenal win over West Brom at the Emirates. Emile Smith-Rowe and Nicolas Pepe scored the other 2. Arsenal travelled to St. James' Park Sunday afternoon after the midweek disappointment, knowing they needed a win to boost some confidence going into the next midweek game. Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners through goals from Elneny (first ever in the PL) and Aubameyang. Welcome to my YouTube channel; the home of all things Football, where anything and everything goes! Arsenal hosted Fulham on Sunday afternoon knowing a win would take them closer to Everton and Tottenham in the table and their chances of securing at least Europa League football via the league next season easier to come by. Mikel Arteta made 5 changes to the starting XI - Mat Ryan, Hector Bellerin, Gabriel, Mohamed Elneny and Gabriel Martinelli came in for Bernd Leno, Callum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe. Arsenal had 2 goals ruled out before half time by VAR due to offside; the first one so very questionable, the tightest of angles and poor lines drawn; the second a lot clearer. Fulham took the lead through a VAR filled advantage of their own; Mario Lemina was 'fouled' (he dived) by Gabriel; the referee gave the penalty. VAR reviewed it to see if Ola Aina was offside but again, small margins and lines drawn, the penalty stood. Fulham led 1-0. Arsenal had to wait until the 97th minute to find their equaliser through Eddie Nketiah who came on for Alex Lacazette, after he went down seemingly pulling his hamstring; we hope he isn't too badly injured. The game finished 1-1. Welcome to my YouTube channel; the home of all things Football, where anything and everything goes! With a slight bias towards Arsenal! Arsenal travelled to Bramall Lane against bottom placed Sheffield United, knowing a win would not only breed some confidence into the side ahead of Thursday's Quarter Final second leg but if they are to have even the smallest chance of securing European football next season, then a win was a must! And win they did, and in some style; now albeit against Sheffield United, Arsenal turned up with some beautiful football, most notably from Ceballos, Partey, Lacazette, Saka and Martinelli and goals from Lacazette x2 and Martinelli secured a 3-0 victory over the blades but also a first clean sheet in 14 was much needed! Also I discuss a little bit at the end about the news this week that Folarin Balogun is set to extend his Arsenal contract AND a good day for William Saliba. NOW ONTO SLAVIA PRAGUE!!
