December 23, 1988 - After a four-year career at Notre Dame in which he averaged 8.7 points and 5.6 rebounds, 6-foot-10 245-pound center Tim Kempton was drafted in the sixth round of the 1986 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Impressively, Kempton was able to carve out an eight-year NBA career (with a handful of overseas forays sprinkled in-between). Kempton's finest year as a pro came as a member of the expansion Charlotte Hornets, when he appeared in 79 games during the team's inaugural season and averaged 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds. In a last second win over the Chicago Bulls, Kempton scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench. Box Score: https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/198812230CHH.html
